Days of Macedonian Culture in Egység

The 15th ‘Days of Macedonian Culture’ were held last night in the Egység Cultural Station in Novi Sad in honour of the Slavic educators Cyril and Methodius.

The cultural manifestation with a long tradition began with a ceremonial academy, and the audience enjoyed the music programme performed by music school students and students of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. According to the organizers, the manifestation is extremely important because of the preservation of the national identity of the Macedonian people.

‘Through such manifestations, we nurture our culture and tradition, and above all the preservation of the language. We have been holding this event for 15 years and we are very satisfied,’ said Vaska Čergoska, the organizer of the event.

The relevant provincial secretariat supported the ‘Days of Macedonian Culture’, and the Provincial Secretary for Culture, Public Information and Relations with Religious Communities Dragana Milošević pointed out that this is a very important day for the Macedonian national community, in a wide range of differences in Vojvodina.

‘The Provincial Government and the Secretariat will continue to support the preservation of the national identities of all national communities in Vojvodina, and thus the Macedonian national community, through nurturing culture, language, alphabet, education and information ─ your and our common wealth,’ Dragana Milošević pointed out.

This event, implemented by the Association of Citizens of the Macedonian National Minority ‘Cyril and Methodius’, will continue in the Cultural Centre of Novi Sad on 28 May and on 25 and 26 June.
