Within the concert tour entitled ‘Four Corners of World’, the ensemble Aratos Trio will perform in the Egység Cultural Station on 9 November at 7 p.m, while the idea of the programme is to present works for the clarinet trio from different parts of the world.
In order to give the audience a picture of different styles, tendencies in art and ways of using instruments from different cultures, violinist Katarina Popović, clarinetist Mihailo Samoran and pianist Vanja Šćepanović will present themselves with works by composers Igor Stravinsky (Russia), Gian Carlo Menotti (Italy), Isidora Žebeljan (Serbia), Bright Sheng (China), Peter Schickele (USA).
Members of the unusual chamber orchestra are accomplished professional musicians and PhD students at the Faculty of Music Arts. Led by the idea of popularisation of the clarinet trio, they formed the ‘Aratos Trio’ in 2014 and since then, they perform the repertoire that includes the most significant pieces written for clarinet, violin and piano, with the special focus on the music of 20th and 21st centuries, as well as compositions created in cooperation with contemporary Serbian composers.
